Nine of us....Roy, Claire, Julie, Rory, Graham, Gaile, Grant, Ryan and myself drove up to Hervey Bay and caught our own flight to Lady Elliott Island this weekend. We had an absolute ball. Ryan did an introductory Scuba dive with me on the Great Barrier Reef, and loved it to bits. We were housed in "Eco Tents" and this is one place we will most certainly be going back to. the Island has so much to offer by way of activities, we Snorkelled, went for walks, ate up a storm and generally relaxed in such a nice atmosphere. We were particularly spoilt by seeing a Green Turtle come up from the water and lay a clutch of eggs, and return, which took a few hours out of Saturday night, but was so worth while. I will put the pics up here in a seperate story to do it justice. Then they released a number of hatchlings and they went running down the beach to join a very scary world (only 1 in 1000 ever makes it in the open sea). Got back to Hervey Bay last night and had a 3 and a half hour drive back to brisbane, and nobody needed any rocking to sleep that was for sure..
