Ian Makes the Lord Taverners Squad

Very proud of Ian having made the Lord Taverners squad. Although most of their season is behind them, they still have some Twenty20 games to play in the New Year, but Ian will start practicing with them from now on and will be in the squad for next season as well.

Lord Taverners is an Under 17 Regional Competition run under the Senior side of our Club at Valleys Districts Cricket Club By Queensland Cricket. This is the feeder side, along with the Under 19 side for the Queensland Cricket Bulls side.

Obviously a long way to go, but Ian will gain great experience playing with the seniors and benefit by being exposed to top coaches (not like his old Dad)and being part of a very good outfit of promising young cricketers.

Good luck Ian, keep your head down and eye on the ball, we are just so proud of your achievements this season.

For those that are not aware, Ian is the highest run scorer in Under 15, and either number one or two in the All rounders stakes, after last weeks match when he took 3 wickets. He has hit the most 6's and Boundaries too and his batting average is over 40. He has achieved 4 of the top 20 totals in his age group, and as you can no doubt tell by his Dad's ramblings here, I am bursting with pride (maybe reliving my young cricketing years?)
