Second half of the Cricket Season starts

The second half of the season got off to a very good start for the team. I have stepped down as coach and am now assisting Bill with the team. The Boys were playing Albany Creek at the South Pine fields, and we batted first on a wet wicket. Ian played well, only making 12 but in a good stand with our new recruit Mark Sampson (an ex Red School in Pinelands) boy who is at school with him here at the Gap State High now. Who would have thought that two Pinelands boys, playing in the same cricket side in Australia?? My but the world is a very small place....

Ian also opened the bowling for the first time and took two vital wickets, one of which is the top Under 15 batsman in the region, who he bowled a perler just short of a length which shot up at head height. The chap tried to hook him and was caught at square leg. The other wicket was bowled all ends up.... Together with Seb, the other opener, we have them 3 for 30 odd, so next week will be interesting.
