Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Ride 2008

To be added to tomorrow, but a few of us from the office, resplendant in our new "Ballantyne designed" Hagglunds cycling kit, together with a few guys in my "Ballantyne designed" Komatsu cycling kit (Jim & Dave) will be making our annual pilgramidge from Brisbane to Surfers Paradise (100km) by bike tomorrow. This year Grant is still in China, and Dave Vicig in London of course, but Rory will do it with us on Dave's bike.
Definately not as pretty as the Argus (can anything be??) but the biggest cycle ride they have in Queensland anyway at 7 500 entrants (makes the junior cycle tour look good !!!)I am sure we will have fun. Been raining all Saturday, lets hope it stays cool and overcast tomorrow too.

Race report: It did stay cool, I kept my heart rate under 160 as my chest was very tight, just for reasons of not wanting to die, but had a nice ride with Simon (pictured above) and Richard from our office. Also one of our apprentices Kenny did the ride. Feel a million dollars this morning, and I think that is due to the thousands of Kilometers we did through the winter. So thanks to my mate who ride with me regularly....
The bike went great this year, no spokes problems like last year, and the T-Shirt fits too (so I MUST have lost some weight from last year) - jumped on the scale this morning and see I lost 2 Kilo's just yesterday - that means that if I ride to Perth, over a four week period, doing 100km a day, I should look quite good by the time I arrive.......
