This picture was taken last year, but a year goes by so quickly. Tomorrow night is ORIGIN 1 and for those not familiar with the concept (it's rugby league) Queensland v New South Wales - Queensland are referred to as the Maroons (pronounced Mar-oh-ns), or Cane toads v the Cockroaches. Basically the Pro footie players of the NRL who play for the state that they first started playing their amateur game in. So you can have a Captain of the Melbourne storm (Cameron Smith) playing for Queensland, and a guy like Luke O'Donnall from the Cowboys - a North Queensland team, playing for NSW. It is like a war. Nobody hates the NSW guys more than the Queenslanders, and this is an epic three match series played every year. Very intense and better than test footie by far. Since we came top Australia, Queensland have not lost a series and they are not going to start now - It's 4 in a row this year (we hope).
We are hosting a get together at our house tomorrow night - everyone will be wearing their Maroon colours, and I will take some pictures to post soon.
Go the Maroons - Go Queensland - Go you good thing!!!!
