92 Not out! - what a way to end the season?

At the start of play today, Ian was presented with the match ball for his 5 wicket haul last week, and that set the tone for the team, chasing a huge total, but lasted the first 30 overs without losing a wicket and having to retire our two openers (after facing 75 balls each). Ian and Seb put on some good runs, with Sebastian being bowled in the 37th over. Ian mean while was busy compiling one of his best scores to date and soon had his third 50 of the season. He went on and had to retire on 81 after facing his 75 balls. He was lucky enough to get an additional over at the end of the day and added 11 more runs before our 55 overs was up. He ended on 92 Not Out. Given that he had to retire, he would most definitely had his "Ton" in the bag, but 92 off 82 balls is some going - at more than a run a ball. I am just so chuffed for him, he has worked hard at his game this season and achieved more than he set himself in terms of challenges - ending up as the best Valleys District Club U15 batsman, bowler and top all rounder this season.
Some of his scores of note have been 92no, 77, 66, 41no, 40 and a few in the 30's. He ended with 19 wickets to his credit and has made the Lord's Taverners squad and Development squad (U17 and U19) at the club. He will play U16 next season and should get a few games in the men's grades as well.
I think Ian's one friend summed it up on his facebook page when he said "OMG Ian, I never knew how insanely awesome you are at cricket". Ian must definitely be an Aussie now, as he just said, I just love playing this game - that's all.
