Storm Update

UPDATE: ARMY troops are poised to help clean up after storms that tore across south-east Queensland.
Brisbane City Council has called on the help of army engineers from Enoggera Barracks to help repair damage to parts of Brisbane after it was hit by the worst storms in a quarter of a century on Sunday.

THE incredible damage the storm inflicted on parts of The Gap made areas of the suburb look like a war zone, Courier-Mail reporters said this morning.

And Premier Anna Bligh said the damage was as bad as that caused by Cyclone Larry, which flattened Innisfail in 2006. Courier -Mail reporter Trent Dalton told of his shock at seeing an intense corridor of damage.
