Can you imagine how chuffed I was when I arrived at Mellansel and my name was up in lights, and they were flying the Aussie flag in my honour from the head office flagpole.? Had such a nice day, many meetings and being introduced to all and sundry. This place is just as nice as I thought it would be, picture postcard stuff and all of that in a warm - so I'm told minus 6 degrees.
I am being looked after by the guys from the Aftermarket department and am staying at the Scandic hotel in the town of Ornskoldsvik - about 20 km from the factory.
The European Curling championships are being held this weekend and all of next week, so we have all the teams staying in the same hotel. I was very surprised to see a number of German guys from the team wearing beanies with the South African flag on them, they must have been there recently...
Also here are the Polish, Austrian, Italian and Norway teams. Bit of a scrum to get breakfast in the mornings, but they are there from 6am, so I can go a bit later.
