Last weekend we went up to Camp Mountain with the Kriels, whilst Derek was completing a perfect 10 (sailing through the air with a half twist and double somersault in the pike position) falling off his bike on Settlement road, in the process breaking his shoulder and stuffing his bicycle comprehensively, then collaping and having to be admitted to the Gold Coast Hospital emergency unit.....anyway I digress, we were attacked by three of these huge lizard type thingies (almost like a legavaan), Jan and Debbie ended up on the table, and Ian and Jamie had fun chasing them with an assortment of kitchen knives, and implements. Discovered they are carnivorious or is it just that they loved the boerewors they were being fed to get them to run away......Went to walkabout creek and saw the Duck billed Platypus, the wallabies (all with small Joey's in their front pockets) and the snakes etc. All in all, a lot of nature was seen and experienced.
