Driving licence conversions....ooooo Dorner!!!

After failing my first test last year this time, I had to get serious and pass the theory part, as did Jan and Emma. But now we have to do a driving (practical) test to get our Queensland licences within three months of getting permanent residence.

Jan had a devils own job and had to resort to "calling the supervisor" at the licence department, as she cannot prove that she lives at 5 Bellorose Street in any way acceptable to the Queensland Transport people. Even me being there, Medicare cards, Bank cards, our telephone account (not in her name) and her life insurance policy addressed to her at 5 Bellerose, from an Australian company made them flinch.

Only when the Anti Discrimination Commission of Queensland was touted, did they allow her to sit the exam - shame she was in such a state, it's little wonder she managed to pull herself together to pass the test.

My test is on the 24th May - will let you know how it went...

So this is why we know of women here who are Aussie Citizens and still drive on their RSA licences, it can be mighty humiliating to have to redo your licence after having driven for 30 years.
